What we collect, and what we never do

Our readers care about privacy more than most. So this policy is short and specific.

What we collect

Email address, when you request a free download or buy a product. We also record the time you signed up, the page you signed up from, and your IP address at that moment, because anti-spam law requires us to be able to show you asked for our emails.

Purchase records: what you bought, when, and the transaction ID from the payment provider. We do not see or store your card number. Payment providers (PayPal, Amazon, Etsy) have their own policies.

Site analytics that do not identify you: page views and referrers, collected without cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or advertising pixels.

What we do with it

Deliver what you asked for, send you the emails you signed up for, and keep the records tax and payment rules require. That is all.

What we never do

We never sell, rent, or share the email list. We never run ads on other platforms using your data. We never ask for your name on the free downloads. We never add you to a list you did not ask for.

Unsubscribing and deleting

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. To delete your email and signup record entirely, write to hello@generousterms.com from the address in question and we will confirm when it is done. Purchase records are kept for the period required for tax and chargeback purposes, then deleted.

Cookies and storage

The site stores one value in your browser: that you confirmed you are 18 or older, so we do not ask again. No tracking cookies.

Third parties

Email delivery runs on a transactional email provider under our own domain. Payments run on PayPal, Amazon, or Etsy depending on where you buy. Some articles contain affiliate links, described on the affiliate disclosure page; clicking one takes you to that company's site and their policy.

Children

This site is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the weekly email before it takes effect.
